Four ways to work with CLI

Affiliation identifies the role a person or organization will hold, they work they will perform, and the standards that apply.

Choose the pathway that best matches the contribution: Committee Service, Research Affiliation, Project Contribution, or Institutional Partnership.

Committee Service

Ongoing service on a standing committee

Committee members develop recommendations and oversee the core work of the Institute.

This pathway is designed for people with relevant expertise in language, research, publishing, technology, or Cham community knowledge.

Research Affiliation

A scholarly relationship based on a defined field of inquiry

Research affiliates purse a defined question in Cham linguistics, language education, literature, or history.

This pathway is designed for academic specialists whose work is intended to contribute to original Cham language scholarship.

Project Contribution

Hands-on work for a specific CLI project or resource

Project contributors complete defined tasks that fall under broader committee initiatives. It is designed for community contributors who can advance a specific system or resource.

Institutional Partnerships

Cooperation between CLI and organizations whose capabilities align with its work

Institutional partnerships connect CLI with research centers, publishers, cultural institutions, and other entities.

Partnerships establish a framework for shared research and other forms of institutional cooperation.

Review and Approval

Every expression of interest is reviewed in relation to the proposed role, contribution, and fit with CLI’s institutional mandates.

1. Expression of interest
Identify the affiliation pathway and proposed basis for the relationship.
2. Institutional review
CLI considers expertise, capacity, relevance, and fit with its mandates.
3. Defined relationship
The role and institutional expectations are established.
4. Presidential approval
The President confers affiliation on behalf of Cham Language Institute.

Expression of Interest

Describe the work you want to do and why you or your institution are suited to it.

Include your name and contact information, the affiliation pathway, your area of expertise or institutional capacity, and the proposed contribution or basis for affiliation. A professional profile, publication, portfolio, or institutional website may also be included.
